Sorenity Rocks Malibu presents “Crystals and Waves.” The show will run from August 26th through September 20th. An opening reception will be held on August 26th from 6-10pm.

It is time to take a deep breath and explore what’s good about life. With the 24 hour news cycle, road rage, and media overload, we have been distracted from the beauty that surrounds us.

Sorenity Rocks Malibu is an interactive crystal gallery and performing arts sanctuary located in the heart of Malibu. During the night of August 26, 2017, Sorenity Rocks Malibu offers a respite from the outside world when it will present an opening reception for an exhibit of museum quality healing crystals, together with award winning Malibu photographer Maureen Haldeman’s new large abstract photographs depicting the beauty of the ocean. The large photographs, printed on metal and displayed in the setting of beautiful crystals, represents a moment in time when one can slow down, feel the positive energy of the crystals and open themselves up to the beauty of the photographs.

“When photographing the ocean, the constant motion and uniqueness of each wave reminds me of the fleeting moments of life, constantly changing and never to be repeated. The ocean represents a constant reminder not to waste precious moments of life and to experience the beauty around us every minute,” reflects photographer Maureen Haldeman. “For me as an artist, the ocean is transformational; spiritually and physically. Visually stunning, the waves and shoreline are a collection of color, texture and endless abstractions that stretch far beyond what one might hope to capture in a single photograph.”

“I’m thrilled to have the gallery actualize its intention of amplifying great art among some of the largest museum crystals in the world. Sorenity Rocks Malibu has become an environment where Malibu Artists can collaborate and exhibit, share their talent and knowledge. From the moment I met Maureen, I wanted to produce a show to highlight her talent. Like crystals, I regard her work as wellness tools,” says Lenise Soren, owner and curator of Sorenity Rocks Malibu.

A variety of interactive crystal stations will be incorporated into the show, including sitting and standing on large crystals, crystal singing bowls and live Jazz music. “Our clients recognize the value of the crystals and the education we provide. We incorporate these large minerals into the design of their offices, homes, gardens and recording studios to create greater efficiency and balance,” adds Lenise.

Maureen was born in Holland and grew up in Montreal Canada. She was appointed to serve as a member of the Malibu Arts Task Force – the first committee formed by the City of Malibu to promote the arts in Malibu. She has taught photography at the college level, provided freelance work for various publications, including the Los Angeles Times, and has been commissioned to do many private photographic projects for her clients involved in entertainment. Her works have been exhibited and are in collections all over the world. They are also frequently used in the set design for Film and Television.

Lenise opened her Sorenity Rocks Malibu Gallery in January of this year and was an instant success. Blending her passion for wellness and talent as a development producer, she describes what she creates as ‘Interactive Wellness Entertainment.’ Lenise has a management production company and serves as a consultant for artists, musicians, actors and writers. To much excitement, Lenise has recently been voted as Chairman of the Malibu Chamber of Commerce. ‘Crystals and Waves’ launches the first of many Malibu Art based events at Sorenity Rocks Malibu supporting Chamber members. Portions of all proceeds will be donated to the NEW Malibu Chamber of Commerce to fund new community, art and youth events for 2017.
