Porch Gallery presents “Ojai Invitational 2017: California Space & Light”

Porch Gallery Ojai presents the Ojai Invitational 2017: “California Space & Light”, a collaboration with EMS Arts featuring selected works by Kelly Berg, Brad Howe, Andy Moses and Jennifer Wolf. The exhibition will run from May 25th through July 2nd, 2017.

Through Berg’s use of dimension, Howe’s reflective surfaces, Moses’ relationship of shape and space and Wolf’s vivid hand-made pigments; this year’s artists all create unique relationships with illumination, dimension, texture and shape. Collectively, their work leads one to question and appreciate the exceptionally Californian experience of light and space.

Conceived as an annual event, the invitational strives to continue to bring what Eric Minh Swenson in the Huffington Post described as “a new attitude to the region, an attitude that forms a coalition with Santa Barbara down to San Diego and beyond in making Ojai arts not only unique but has it’s special place in arts history.” The exhibition catalog will feature an essay written by Shana Nys Dambrot. A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition will benefit Ojai’s Carolyn GalsoeBailey Foundation.
